| Web Site | Los Gatos | Cycle | Cost: $100.00 | | The Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club (LGBRC), a 501 C7 non-profit (Federal) and a 501 C3 non-profit charitable (State) corporation, is a highly competitive amateur cycling team founded by 1960 Rome Olympic team members Bob Tetzlaff and Jack Hartman in 1960 as a developmental racing and training club. Traditionally closely-knit club, the LGBRC is one of the most successful amateur bicycle racing clubs in the US. The LGBRC was selected by the US Cycling Federation as the Regional Club of the Year in 1996 and Club of the Year – Division 1 (largest clubs) – Women in 2003. In addition to 1960 Rome Olympians Tetzlaff and Hartman, LGBRC members have represented the US in the 1968 Mexico City (Rob Parsons), 1976 Montreal (Fred Markham, Joe Saunders), 1984 Los Angeles (Chris Huber), 1988 Seoul (Craig Schommer) and 1996 Atlanta (Don Myrah) Olympics. Two other former LGBRC members, Anders Wickholm and Maureen Kaila Vengara, also represented Sweden and El Salvador, respectively, in the 1996 Olympics. Bob “King of the Road” Tezlaff was inducted into the US Bicycling Hall of Fame in May 2003.

NorCal Velo is a regional women's cycling team. Our members compete in Road, Mountain, and Cyclo-cross events. The women of NorCal Velo represent a diverse cross-section of our community, yet we share a commitment to making positive change through the promotion of cycling, for sport and recreation.
Growth
Plan NorCal Velo's Race Team objective is to support our elite riders through product sponsorship and race reimbursement. Our Club Team initiative is designed to support developing athletes, and to continue to attract women racers in Road, Mountain, and Cyclo-cross events. Weekly training rides foster team camaraderie and trust. Club members have the opportunity to participate in skills clinics and bike maintenance workshops.

The club is active in recruiting young riders to the sport. Masters racing is also a large part of SJBC's community involvement. Drawing many members from the high tech companies in the Silicon Valley. |

The tradition of the monthly Fourth Sunday Run began then; it remains emblematic of our commitment to provide regular races over a fast certified course at low cost. We consider ourselves a community resource, and are recognized as such by the City of Oakland and the Oakland Parks and Recreation Department.
LMJS is an affiliate member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Through the RRCA, we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are governed by an elected board and officers, with the annual election held concurrent with our Summer potluck in August. The Board of Directors meetings take place monthly and are open to anyone who would like to attend. Club membership is open to all interested parties including walkers, joggers, non-competitive runners, biathletes, triathletes, and competitive runners regardless of age, sex or athletic ability.

One of TRIbe’s first missions was to offer cash sponsorships to up-an-coming local pros, as a way to help them pay for the large travel expenses of racing throughout the world. “Graduates” of this program include Becky Lavelle, Alexis Waddel, Erin McCarty, Linda Gallo, Chad Hawker, Sebe Ziesler, Victor Plata, Eileen Castillo and Andy Kelsey. The program was incredibly successful at helping launch the careers of these outstanding US athletes who have gone on to compete at national and world championships and the Olympic Games!
